Labor has delivered seven new cabins open for bookings tomorrow at the Barwon Heads Caravan Park.
Member for Bellarine Alison Marchant today unveiled the new cabins through the latest round of the Regional Tourism Investment Fund.

The project supported 17 jobs during construction and is expected to attract more than 4,500 extra visitors staying more than 1,750 nights each year.

There are four new two-bedroom cabins and three new one-bedroom deluxe cabins including one accessible option.

The cabins are modular designs, built offsite and transported to their new home in Barwon Heads.

The two existing one-bedroom cabins will also be upgraded next year as part of the broader project.

First Peoples influence is embedded throughout the project including consultation with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, artist Billy-Jay O'Toole.

Billy-Jay O'Toole’s artwork features on the cabins' glass sliding doors and Wadawurrung artwork can be seen across the precinct.

The Carroll Labor Government is proud to deliver tourism infrastructure that reflects local community and culture.

This project is part of the $170 million Regional Tourism and Events Fund that is creating more jobs, supporting our tourism businesses and attracting more visitors.

The Fund helps strengthen and expand Victoria’s tourism industry, supporting First Peoples-led experiences, wellness, arts and culture, food and drink and nature.

Tourism is a big business for the Victorian economy.

In the year ending March 2026, 119.8 million visitors spent $48.6 billion and stayed 170.1 million nights.

Since 2021, more than 200 projects have been supported across regional and rural Victoria, creating thousands of jobs and ensuring Victoria is a must-visit location.

A Liberal-One Nation Coalition is a real risk to working people, with their cuts threatening the jobs, businesses and services regional communities rely on.
